Disappearing Message Content

I have numerous old messages saved in different folders whose content I can
no longer access. I receive the following message when trying to open:
Message cannot be found. The contents of this message cannot be found.
Windows Mail. This occured after I followed instructions to fix a problem
with an email which could not be deleted. I used WMutil to compact and
repair the data base. Any suggestion on how I might get to the content of
these messages would be appreciated. Windows Mail is becoming increasingly
troublesome. Are there any fixes b
