DVD Maker freezes

I have recorded several DVDs sucessfully. However, now when I try, it gets
to "encoding...3.2%" and freezes - every time. I have tried going through
Movie Maker and get the message "Error loading DVD. Class not registered."
even though I have also used it sucessfully before. Any suggestions?
