Pictures Duplicated in My Pictures folders

Why are some of my pictures duplicated in the folders of My Pictures?
Acturally it has happened to alot of the pictures. Some of the pictures have
the same exact names, and others have name (1), or copy of name (1).

Did Vista Business duplicate my pictures? Is this a flaw or something? Is
this correctable, or do I have to go and delete 1,000's of pictures to free
up my hard drive?

Any ideas on how to correct it?
