Re: Black screen for abit after boot

Hi,
Everytime I boot up my computer I get a minute delay before it gets onto the
logon screen. Straight after my boot screen has gone I get a blank screen for
a minute and then a glimpse of the Cursor and then the Startup sounds and
then I get to the logon screen.
I don't have nay Viruses or Spyware on my computer because I did a full csan
yesterday. Please help because this is very annoying when I need to copy
some files.
EDIT:
After a bit of experimenting I found out it is something to do with
Superfetch.

I did research and many people suggest it is video driver problem - especially if you have NVIDIA video chipset. I uninstalled and reinstalled latest drivers. Still black screen during boot. I even tried a system restore point before the problem began. But that did not help either. I then turned off User Account Control. YES, this defeates one of VISTA's security measures; but the boot issue disapeared. There is a check box in Control panel, USER account to turn it off and on.
