Search feature isn't working when trying to do a search in Public Folder.

Hello,   We have Exchange 2003 Server and we are having a problem when in Outlook's Public Folders. Within the Public Folder we have created a contact folder called "Master Contact" which consist of about 6,000 contacts. The problem is when we try to do a search for a person by putting their name in the search field. No matter what name we put in the search field it always returns with "No Items Found", but if you manually scroll through the "Master Contacts" folder you will indeed find the contact. Any ideas on why this maybe happening?
