I am currently rewriting the XP installation for increased compatibility, the current tutorial works well for windows fundamentals but many have been having problems getting regular XP to install with it. I am seeing some chatter on the newsgroups and web forums as to what ports to open up on a firewall to allow the Client Access and Hub Transport server roles to be placed in the perimeter / DMZ network. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot an email server problem all day, and one of the tests I’ve been performing is trying to connect to port 25 of the mail server through Telnet. Java is one of those programs that seems to keep old versions of the software in Add/Remove programs even after you update to the newest version. Right now my machine is showing Java 6 Update 3, 4, and 5 in Add/Remove programs.
