vista business upgrade

I am trying to upgrade from XP pro to Vista Business and have not had any
success!
Vista Advisor says my system will work with Vista Business but suggested
I upgrade the Video card because I wouldn't be able to enjoy all
"Windows Aero Experience". it also wasn't able to find compatibility issues
with my old Soundbalster card.

WIll these issues block me from upgrading even though the advisor says it
will work? Is there any thing I can do or have I thrown the cost of the
upgrade out the window (no pun intended) What do I need to do?
