We’ve been receiving a number of performance complaints around Visual Studio 2010 (Beta 2) performance, and we’ve traced at least some of these back to bad video drivers / hardware. 

If this is your situation you can easily work around the problem by forcing WPF into software emulation mode by changing one registry key:
